Oasis of dreams

created this work with the thought of what an oasis means to me. It was challenging, but I tried to show an oasis as a safe space filled with creative thoughts, a cherry tree that represents home in Ukrainian culture, and blue barvinok flowers that grew near my home. For me, nature is a huge source of imagination and a symbol of life and love.

I created this work for the THU competition and it was a very therapeutic experience.

To be honest, it was emotionally hard to draw because I lost my sense of safety after the Russian invasion. Currently, when I think about an oasis, I think about a safe space. I don't know the answer to this, but I'm really trying to find it inside myself.
